Shadow Catchers

Historic, Modern, Contemporary Photographs since 1992

The first photos were taken when a Seattle developer, C. D. Hillman hosted an 'Open House'  to sell lots in the Southern Puget Sound near Olympia at the entrance to Budd Inlet. He hired steamboats to bring prospective buyers/investors from Seattle to Shelton for the day's excursion. They came on vessels from Puget Sound's famous Mosquito Fleet and you can find more photos of them in our Puget Sound Vessels Gallery.  ( Watermarks will not be on art)
